button in navbar bug

Hi there, I want to use a button in my navbar, but there are some weird effect when i hover the button.( tested in Firefox 10.0.2 and Chrome 16) Here is an example: http://jsfiddle.net/MgDgD/

Is there also a chance in bootstrap to increase the distance from the .navbar-text and the .navbar-search ? In my oppinion the buttons are way too close.
