Meta: graphical component

From the backlog: items around adding a graphical component.

  • expand internal format (generic SVG or more a "MathML4"?)
  • potential use cases
    • diagrams, graphs, etc. (cf. jsxgraph, geogebra)
    • visualizations
    • dynamic graphics (e.g., commutative diagram being drawn, mathbox.js, processingjs, d3js)
    • enable manipulation of diagrammatic content (e.g. allow reader to rearrange nodes of a graph)
  • go beyond math (e.g., ChemML, Feynman diagrams, lillypond-to-vexflow,)
  • add TeX extensions (e.g., modeled after tikz, xypic/xyjax, pstrickts/mathapedia)
  • cf. #41 #554
  • cf. https://github.com/mathjax/MathJax-docs/wiki/Advice-on-writing-a-graphics-extension-for-MathJax, https://github.com/mathjax/MathJax-docs/wiki/List-of-general-purpose-graphics-javascript-libraries
