What will happen in your session?

Ongoing EU copyright reform will shape internet and users rights for ages. It will influence our daily internet experience, the way we share and create. But many people seem to be not interested in legal matters, even if they concern them. During our session we want to present the human face of copyright reform - the impact it might have for Mozfest participants. To encourage the conversation and dialog we have prepared three activities:

  • test evaluating what kind of user you are
  • video shooting with participants on their copyright expirience
  • photo shooting with sentences to be finished "internet is important to me, because" etc...

We have checked this approach on various festivals in PL and it worked;)

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

We want to help people to understand what impact will copyright reform have on they internet experience and to explain them, that EU reform is not a far away process, but something they can have impact on - all they need is some empowerment;) Moreover, proposed activities will help us in producing materials and evidences we can use in our policy work both on EU and Polish level - we need human stories and faces to fight for users rights.

Time needed
