[ Session Name ] Understanding Agri Supply Chains and Our Role+ Impact and What we can do! [ Primary Space ] Decentralisation [ Secondary Space ] Youth Zone

[ Submitter's Name ] Ajay Etikala [ Submitter's Affiliated Organisation ] Organic Ubuntu [ Submitter's GitHub ] @ajayetikala

[ Other Facilitator 1's Name ] Sandhya Etikala

What will happen in your session?

We will play few interactive games to understand world’s agriculture supply chains like cotton, soya, beef etc, their impact on the environment & carbon credits etc For eg- the group will be divided into subgroups where they have to choose some images, clues (parts of the supply chain), role play and arrange with their carbon credits etc. the groups will rearrange and discuss their findings. Post that they have to choose small steps which they want to take in their lives to reduce the carbon prints. For example eating one less non-veg meal in a week. They can see the reducing through the different carbon models(from high to low)- how they are impacting and how it will impact our earth.

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

• The goal of the session is to sensitize and raise awareness about the long supply chains of our food, clothes etc & how do they travel long to reach us and hence leading to climate change. • Once they are sensitized through different games, role playing etc. they will understand how silently we all are contributing to the larger problem, once they understand this they will take some simple actions (in the game itself) which will show how much carbon emissions they can reduce. • To build a small solution may be an app or something with the guests- towards this so that it can be taken forward and piloted.

If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.
