[ Session Name ] Who the heck is mark and why is he going up... Mark up and decorate text. [ Primary Space ] Web Literacy [ Secondary Space ] Web Literacy

[ Submitter's Name ] Frank Thomas-Hockey [ Submitter's Affiliated Organisation ] Resident of the uk

What will happen in your session?

I will take newcomers and those who would like some refreshment through the use of HTML to mark up a plain text document. Starting from a raw text file and ending with some decoration with CSS. If I have time, we will use some Jquery to code some interactivity into the page.

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

To show newcomers that web languages aren't that scary and back fill for all the bright young coding sessions that will take place in the youth zone. Let the attendees know that facebook and blogging CMSes are useful but not essential to use the tools of the web.

If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.

Just bring your own laptop a text editor and a web browser.
