UN backers of this appear to have forgotten the lessons from the league of nations. The point of the UN is it doesn't have any teeth.

Circuit boards by hand? IIRC circuit boards were one of the first technological artifacts the manufacturing of which was fully robotized. You can't really place modern SMT components by hand anyway -- not repeatedly and quickly at least.

That’s what they want you to think. Seriously. They’re supposed to find any excuse they can to charge you with a crime. Misleading you into believing they are supposed to protect you only makes that easier. If you want protection, you get a lawyer, a bodyguard, or a condom, depending on what kind of protection you need.
