As an Italian, I can tell you this is pure demagoguery. It keeps the old, tradition stuck-up population in agreement with an over traditional, conservative government, touching an aspect that is at heart to many and not an issue at all. If that was the issue, they would have waged war against sushi places, kebab shops, ethical restaurant and shops. But they don’t, because that’s a tax-paying given as of today. Lab-grown meat would be another type of plate, it would not be mixed to the traditional dishes, it would have its own aisle at the supermarket and its own restaurants…it would not replace anything. But it’s new, it’s scary and that’s the perfect thing to be actively engaged to get the trust of an overly scared aging population attached to the old ways, giving the impression to be working hard without really losing anything in the process

I think we are among the lowest working hours in the world. Many people working fulltime jobs under 40 hours/week.

And if it would be about wages why are poor people getting more children? Why is the global south getting more children than rich western societies? It does not add up and your logic is just plain wrong.

I believe the robots we use in cars are mainly to produce the main body and larger parts. Engines and smaller stuff like circuit boards etc are still made by hand.

Phones are really small and need precision. Perhaps that's why robots aren't used

Y'all are mixing private, public, and personal property that's wild...

No one's burning anybody's house. Destruction of personal property is rare af.

And what would you do if your "democratic" government tried so hard to pass a reform against 70% of your country's population (90% of workers) that blatantly helped corporations and disserved citizens? They didn't even manage to get token assentment from small businesses.

We fucking tried to make it go peacefully but through some regalian magic trick it didn't even get voted in the constituent assembly. So yeah we're thrashing against the bourgeoisie bc it's the only thing that seems to get us heard.

13,000 police. Say allocated for two weeks, 14 days. The average police officer will need probably a cake per day on average, based on my inventing that fact out of thin air.

So 182,000 cakes.

The police, as seen by them being excluded from this pension reform, are a force of oppression against these demonstrators.

Police in Europe has been started as professional paid wage slaves and they stayed the same till now. Somewhere along the way like-minded people like the privileges they got with becoming riot police (aka beating up leftists) and increasingly flocked into these positions.

The argument of „protect and serve“ can be at most be done for the classic patrol cop who is a first responder. Riot police is nothing else than a paid private army to protect the state from its citizens.

Probably because of the rampant issues India have with raping women and marrying kids. They also buy cheap oil from Russia. No wonder not many redditors are not liking India’s government much currently.

I don’t hate Indians they are lovely people that are generous with their time and know how to feed their guests but as a business I hate selling things to them.

You can do things about your crimes. Just maybe not things that involve (state sponsored) crimes against humanity and society instead. You can lick boots and play devil's advocate all you want. You're still a shit head who turns your gaze away from the damage done because it didn't personally effect you or your family. Sociopathic.

Also lmao at throwing a hissy fit because people who don't live there dare comment:

A) tons of countries have drug problems and related crime. (And tons of people "live in fear in their own country" for other reasons. But that's another discussion) Not just the Philippines. You're a complete imbecile if you think this problem is unique. Some countries come up with actually humane solutions (Portugal). Some come up with insane, disgustingly inhumane solutions (Philippines). Most fall somewhere in between. Your country is not immune to criticism. No country is. Get over it.

B) You're literally posting on a public website made for discourse. If you didn't want people to discuss it and comment on it, maybe you should have kept your shitty, crimes-against-humanity enabling views to yourself.
