I mean this in a good way, not a righty way, because immigrants pay into and want social services that an 2nd, 3rd gen etc., aging population also demands from. Look at Russia which is facing a major problem: old population that is not getting replaced and with war pushing out the Russian young workforce to Kazakhstan or Europe or getting injured or killed in war, they are F’ed. Russians moms rely on what their son makes. Putin has now made bad to worse.

No please everyone try to make global migration easier. Trust me it'll be funny seeing how many labor movements are enabled by workers shifting jobs away from their home countries.

If they're gonna do this shit to get around paying their populations/betterment of everyone's lives to increase generations having kids then we should make sure everyone has a better life anyways.

How so? If anything, I think it's fucking them over least, logically speaking, as pushing back retirement will both a) delay the need for them to support the would be retirees, b) reduce the number of retires who eventually need to be supported, and c) have the would be retirees help pay for the current retirees for a few more years..

Unless unemployment and/youth unemployment is very high in France?

I grew up in a red state and live part of my time in a deep red area. Respectfully, they do matter. Before this manufactured culture war bullshit, Trans people, my community, made huge inroads towards public acceptance and equal rights through deep listening and outreach. I like to think that the echoes of that effort remain. The more the culture warriors pull this dangerous, pointless and cruel nonsense, the more independents they lose and the worse their chances of a full takeover get. If you’re a Republican and can’t get above 35% approval of your bullshit in Mississippi or Alabama? You fucked up.

I’m not saying there’s not danger. Obviously I feel it more than most. But it’s also important that we recognize the other side of the culture war: Us dehumanizing everyone who lives in an area we aren’t part of because a map says so. In reality, there are good people everywhere just like there are bigots everywhere, and there are far, far fewer bigots than they would have us believe. That’s important to remember.
