Reply to comment by Few-Carpenter-5746 in Antarctic sea ice likely shrunk to a record low last week, US researchers said Monday, its lowest extent in the 45 years of satellite record-keeping by DoremusJessup
Cold water subducts and travels away as it sink below the warmer water on the surface that then cools then subducts as well driving the system south at the north pole and north on the south pole. It is called the ocean conveyor belt and is driven by temp and salinity. It is what keeps the gulf streams moving and mixes the oceans. Warm water moves to the poles cold water moves to the tropics.

Are All Bird Eggs Edible? Actually no, not all bird eggs should be eaten due to some birds being toxic. These birds include ones that eat insects causing the birds skin, feathers, and dander to contain the same chemical found in poison dart frogs, Batrachotoxinin-A or BTX:
Hooded Pitohui – from New Guinea. Northern Variable Pitohui – from New Guinea. Blue Capped Ifrita – From New Guinea. Little Shrikethrush – from Australia. Because these birds all sit on their eggs, even touching them would probably be a bad idea.
Other toxic birds include:
Red Warbler – from Mexico Spur-winged Goose – from Sub-Saharan Africa

Reply to Rooftop solar set to take mantle as 'Australia's biggest power source' as coal woes hasten by StopTheGregSign
I was one of the first adopters of solar in my neighborhood thanks to the government's solar scheme. Six years later, my solar panels have more than paid for themselves and now almost every rooftop has them. I owe it all to my electricity company for making my life so fucking difficult that I had to get solar just to say "fuck you" to them.

They are measuring year over year so summer is irrelevant to the study.

And the anti-gay legislators are probably being funded by US Evangelicals, they’ve spent a lot of money in their anti-LGBT mission

Reply to comment by Fresh-Temporary666 in Kremlin: Russia open to Ukraine talks, but won't give up annexed regions by jacobhong
I can’t help but feel like the support from the US is going to dry up or the Ukrainians have to negotiate. The only other outcome would be putin dropping a nuke and triggering an all outt war rather than the current war by proxy. I just don’t see another means to an end

There open to monologues, just not dialogues. But it's still "talks".

This is about antarctic ice which for the most part is not floating. And it being summer isn't relevant ice averages are measured and compared year over year.

Reply to comment by johnty_smith in Russians tighten noose on Ukraine's Bakhmut, Putin warns of Western espionage by redcccp
Look now, the truth is Ruzzia is advancing on Bakhmut. I am all in for Ukraine to win the war, but realistically sometimes they will lose a village or a town. Later counter offensives will retake them, as it has happened so far.
Also the longer this drags on the less like is for Ruzzia to do shit.
Best of luck to the UAF.
