Reply to comment by EndemicAlien in Ukraine war: Zelensky says situation in Bakhmut worsening by jacobhong
It's always a tricky balance.
The enemy must be weak for morale purposes but strong for the purpose of securing additional military aid. That aid must be seen as vital and of the highest quality but also as unimportant and not of any cost to those giving it.

So did they donate? Was their donation accepted?
If not, then what's the point of this article?

Reply to Uganda will propose a new anti-gay bill on Wednesday, the speaker of the country's parliament said, as conspiracy theories accusing shadowy international forces of "promoting homosexuality" flood social media by DoremusJessup
The meme 'Why are you gae' originated from an Ugandan talk show. I wonder how or if the viral nature of that meme had any impact on this discussion.
Also, there's one 'western element that is failed to be showcased in this rhetoric.. that is the commodification of children by parents is not acceptable. Your children aren't your objects to sell or to be bartered with. You also don't own your spouse and you don't dictate someone's likes or dislikes as long as it doesn't go against basic laws. (It also ensures children, women and minority groups have educational freedoms that leads to a more educated society).

If it was Ukraine doing this, they would not only target, but also hit the target

If you look at the history of the government of Taiwan, China had been gaining favorability until recently. Their plan may have been akin to getting the government on their side to eventually annex Taiwan. Hong Kong protests changed those plans drastically.

Huh? What’s the connection?
An ICBM is a high altitude rocket flying at 7/km a second. Each side can deliver just over a thousand nuclear weapons via ICBMs.
Russia and the USA can destroy each other in an hour.

Putin was selected as the fresh level headed governance. The Yeltsin era crowd basically anointed Putin leader and charged him with exterminating the Communist and National Socialist elements trying to take over Post-Soviet Russia.
It’s a very fucked up part of the world
