I would argue that you are wrong In just about every capacity with regards to your second statement.

Given what everyone (especially Russia) expected to happen as a result of Russia invading: Ukraine falls and a puppet government put in place within 3 days/a couple weeks….any result that is not that shows success if not outright victory for the Ukrainians

Ukraine has lost some territory and some 100,000 have been killed or wounded (I’ll go find source if you like but it’s generally accepted that ukraine has lost less people and have been far better about saving casualties)

Ukraine has gained: billions of dollars in military hardware and humanitarian supplies More global attention than they’ve ever received Good will of all western nations Green light to become a most favorable nation if not a member of treaties such as NATO A fully transitioned wartime economy: pros and cons since they’re also suffering from attacks on civilian infrastructure Increased Access to western intelligence communities which will likely stay strong for many years

I know you're joking but "indigenous people should pay for land they've always been on, and give up their lifestyle for the sake of non-indigenous people's convenience" has resulted in too much real-life genocide behind it to be funny

Edit: Read it wrong, haven't had my coffee yet, crossed out the incorrect part

That’s not an issue of defense spending, the Federal Government already spends more on healthcare than any other country does, but only covers seniors and the abject poor. The main problem is the layers of bureaucracy that take money the whole way down, from insurance to billers etc.

If we reformed the system to not waste our money paying insurance companies and all sorts of black holes that money disappears into, Medicare could cover everyone without much additional cost. Think about how much extra money people would have in their pockets.

I agree but then the most imports thing for us all is to be able to waken up in the morning and not have to worry about the security of you own country, this is something we have been able to take for granted for so long maybe we forgot how fragile peace can be ! As much as I hate to have to admit to it we will need to get on board with European security going forward and have a adult conversation about our position in all of this.

Wars don’t end by one party saying they are wrong and turning back. The only way for it to end is through negotiated settlement. I know people have their emotional gut reaction which is fine but it just doesn’t reflect the reality of the situation. Russia savagely invaded Ukraine and is not going anywhere. These borders have changed countless times throughout history. The only way the fighting and senseless death stops is through a negotiated settlement. This will become even more apparent as the war approaches a stalemate meat-grinder
