This is probably one of those situations where actions will speak much louder than words, China…

You say that, but an entire spy ring got caught because they'd use consecutive passport numbers: https://thedebrief.org/russian-spy-successfully-infiltrated-nato-command-circles-reveals-stunning-report/
> Critically, Bellingcat and The Insider also exposed a massive GRU counterintelligence failure in that agency had been issuing consecutively numbered passports to its undercover spies. This meant that investigative journalists, foreign security agencies, or anyone for that matter, could acquire data frequently leaked onto Russia’s black market to uncover other embedded spies.
So it can be valuable, even when it's all fake

That's because it would increase energy prices.

I’ve read in military nerd forums about it because I’ve been confused by mixed claims. as I understand it, the city is not itself strategic for logistics or rail or anything. But it is important for Russia to take it to be able to take more important cities like kramatorsk and Sloviansk.

Double weird from an Aussie who lived though 2 years of the world's longest and most severe lockdowns, then a switch flipped somewhere and it's like the virus never existed.

Who they are and false passports? :) I agree that they use fake passports, but other than the basics, like height and gender, nothing else is real on the fake passports? Photos are nice, but they aren't searchable (without access to Russian databases, or previous encounters with foreign intelligence).

Bakhmut being little strategic is the most braindead propaganda I've read this year. Zelensky vowed to protect it, urged the West to send more weapons and quickly so they could defend it. Half of the reports of how fierce and hellish the war is being fought were on it. And people still go around saying "oh that city is not important".
What?

He is weirdo with a massive ego. I wouldn't say he is idiot, he is serving his own interests. He once said france should stop keeping nukes, that there was no need and it was to expensive to maintain. He was for dismentelment of our nuclear facilities, maybe in favor of russian gaz ? Hight enery cost in europe, he play his part of it with half of our power plan shut down for "maintenance" right when the war started. We used to sell cheap electricity to Eu, now we need to import it from coal :) Lots of Eu politicians are bribe by russian gaz lobby. He is somewhat friend with putin, they went in holiday together before the war. Russians are buying some key nuclear maintenance companies in France. There is so much stuff going on that the news are not covering, this will probably start a few scandales when he stop been president.

The us spent over 2 trillion on Afghanistan so that number is either wrong or comparing something else. My guess is it’s dividing by years (2 trillion/20=100 billion).
