Gotcha. Ages ago I visited SW coastal OZ, and it was the same thing, cans available in pubs, but not on tap.

Also, while on the topic of beer and travel and whatnot, I, as an American cannot believe how many other countries seem to want/ seem to enjoy Budweiser, it is basically the Fosters of America, and I could not be paid to drink it.

I mean… it’s more complicated than that. Very few Sami people today are reindeer herders, and even fewer have it as their main occupation. I’m more familiar with the situation in Sweden than Norway, but here only about 100 herders (out of 4,600 people who own reindeer) have enough reindeer to live on. Economically the practice is heavily subsidized by the government (about 40-50 % of revenue come from compensation for predator kills and prize subsidies). Yet 30-50 % of all of Sweden is reindeer herding territory. Which means that almost any land use in half of the country run into these conflicts. Wind turbines, mines, roads, hunting, fishing - you name it.

Also, there are conflicts within the Sami over reindeer herding. You have to be a member of a “Sameby” to herd reindeer, and the “samebyar” has been accused by other Sami people to be discriminatory as the members decide who gets to be members, so it becomes a insider/outsider issue where Sami people who for some reason didn’t become members when they were formed are excluded despite having well documented Sami heritage.

I know, I was only talking about this case, where he and his family just did it out of greed. He allegedly chased after her to marry him because she was rich, her in-laws and him allegedly mistreated her a lot, she paid for their home and employed his brother but wanted to relocate the family. They even used one of the daughters to talk her into employing his brother

Depends on an awful lot of factors. Weather's going to get more unpredictable tho, and likely harsher in its extremes. It wouldn't surprise me to see significant sea level rise and consequent shoreline loss on the East Coast in the next 20ish years. Which is going to change how things shake out up there.

It is absolutely impossible to meet the global demand for meat without antibiotic use in livestock. If the meat consumption doesn't go down significantly antibiotics will always be used for meat production. Less meat consumption would also be the easiest solution to slow down climate change, to prent zoonoses, overfishing, ... People with access to lternatives to meat have to cut their meat consumption.
