This is just every country on earth though. It's usually better to have just one gang in charge, or ideally two going back and forth so neither gets too comfortable.

The Washington Post has published several articles that reference allegations that the drop in murder rates in El Salvador is actually due to their president making a secret deal with gangs to reduce the murder rate.

Half these drugs are basic comfort (analgesics) and half are kind of failing organ support (liver and diabetes).

Panadol - acetaminophen
Insulin - diabetes
Brufen - Ibuprofen
Disprin - aspirin
Calpol - acetaminophen again?
Tegral - epilepsy, diabetes pain related
Nimesulide - nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug - cramp pains, including diarrhea and menstrual cramps
Hepamerz - liver failure treatment
Buscopan - Wikipedia
Rivotril - extreme anxiety

Sometimes in Diplomacy you have to publicly sxck dxck if you want to achieve your goal.

You make yourself look weak in order to give a strongman leader the cutscenes he needs for internal propagation, so he might agree to a diplomatic resolution where he will claim to be in control. Simple "alpha" manipulation, some might say women invented it (whoever has a wife knows what I'm talking about).

In the case of Macron it failed. And while I think it was wrong on the part of Macron to say "we shouldn't humiliate Putin" as Russia/Putin clearly deserves the humiliation they brought on themselves, I won't be the judge whether the weakness Macron publicly showed was Diplomacy or real.

Turkey has regulations, there's just so much corruption they're poorly if ever enforced. Regulations only work when there's a rule of law and oversight for corruption at all levels of society.

Turkey doesn't have that in practice.

tl;dr Regulations are an absolute necessity, but not enough without enforcement and oversight.
