>We're in an economic war with china and i fully believe there's nothing that makes half of this country lose all critical thinking skills like the the mention of China.

Feels also counter productive since it feels like republicans are really hating china like a lot, but they don't really mind russia so much.

Macron really needs to stop embarrassing himself. First he kept trying to talk to Putin and claiming the war wouldn't happen. Then he had a meeting and confidently proclaimed he had a deal that would avert the war. And now he constantly calls for peace between Ukraine and ruzzia, without conditions beforehand. He needs to stop making a fool of himself

To be honest, this is likely half as much a warning to Ukraine/helping keep the face of pressure for their suzerain, but also likely half as a backup in case Putin invades a Belarus that resists integration. Even Lukashenko acknowledged Russia's annexation plans and tacitly dismissed them.

Reasonable amateur's reaction to this comment thirteen months ago:

Bullshit. The Soviet/ Russian army is enormous and fairly sophisticated, they probably have dozens of flying radar platforms

Reasonable amateur's reaction to this comment today:

Bullshit. No way they have four working aircraft. Do you know the value of the scrap metal in those things?

That isn't just like America, in the US it took about a hundred years for black people to fight for the right to participate in sports with white people. How could Americans so easily forget segregation in life and in sports?

You only changed your tune after WWII, and even then the first black person on a white team didn't occur until the 1950's.

I met two Salvadorians recently and asked them what they thought of this president. They both said the exact same thing. Life is better now and the state is harder on crime. They are very hopeful for where the country is heading now. They also both said that western human rights groups come and fight hard for criminals in prison but are silent for the victims of their crimes. That last part was unprompted by me so it must be a common theme for them. Sad stuff no matter how you look at it.

„ The U.S. has been spreading disinformation about China supplying weapons to Russia and using the allegation to sanction Chinese enterprises,” Mao said, describing this as a “double standard and the very definition of hypocrisy.”

Only a double standard and hypocritical if you ignore the fact that Russia invaded Ukraine to begin with.

Must be exhausting to be a Chinese diplomat. Everyone knows you‘re playing stupid, you know you’re playing stupid, but you have to keep up the charade for the domestic audience and the CCP.

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 85%. (I'm a bot)

> KYIV: French President Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday he would visit China in April, and urged Beijing to pressure Russia to end the war in Ukraine.

> Macron said on Saturday he would visit China in "Early April" and urged Beijing to help "Put pressure" on Russia to end the war.

> The diplomatic rift between Beijing and Moscow on one hand, and the West on the other, was exposed on Saturday as G20 finance ministers failed to adopt a joint statement on the global economy after China sought to water down references to the Ukraine war.

>The fact that Russia only had nine to start with is absurd.

And there are unofficial reports that have said of the original nine, only four of them were in flyable condition (the rest have been grounded for years either needing repairs, or cannibalized to repair the functioning four planes).

That four is now down to three.
