Yeah, my gut feeling is that even if there is some planted or real evidence that those were Ukrainians who did it, Lukashenko would cling to the idea it was something that Belarus partisans did. He's as evil as Putin, but without any imperialistic ambitions.

He definitely doesn't want war. Too much risk personally for him without obvious material or 'spiritual' (can't find a better word) benefits.

The point isn’t how Californians view themselves. It’s how Americans would view a succeeded state, California being a likely candidate for its GDP and ideal borders.

The point also isn’t how Ukrainians view themselves. It is how the older generations of Russians view Ukraine.

I don’t know how you missed that point of the post.

No no no no, this is clearly disinformation! We all know Glorious China is bringing about a renewable revolution! /s

Let's ignore the fact that much of the renewables exist only on paper. And much of those that do exist, are incredibly inefficient due to corruption - As long as they're visible and functional, it's all good. And so, they use low quality parts and fake numbers at every level of the manufacturing process.

Pakistan is going to have an interesting decade coming up. They have an insurgency with the Pakistan Taliban, a hostile Afghanistan Taliban, Balochistan is boiling, religious fundamentalism has destroyed any political process, they have one of the youngest population but don't have food or work for them.

All this is a recipe for a nightmarish situation for Pakistan government.

I like the think that internal governments will fall REALLY quickly in a nuclear disaster. The leaders of that new world (if possible) will be the ones looking to survive. Nobody will want to listen to someone who is hell bent on violence. I can’t even imagine people following a US president after a nuclear war unless their first priority was stability
