Not quite. Mali (and others) replaced the international task forces with Wagner because said forces wouldn't do whatever they asked them to do.

Let's not beat around the bush. The Juntas want gunmen who will crush dissent and not ask questions.

Wagner's attempts to pin their warcrimes on France came after the fact.

1.5 million people raised does not equeal 1.5 million soldiers. Soldiers in a modern sense of the word implies rigorous training complemented with high tech equipment. I

ts not enough to have a 2 months of basic training and a rifle to be a soldier.

I fear Lukashenko is merely raising warm bodies to be thrown in to a meat grinder.

I mean realistically, she has more chance of success getting any changes done in say... Norway than in China. Even if China is the biggest polluter, what would be the point of going to China to protest only to wind up getting arrested? Better a small chance to make a small change than a 0% chance of getting anything done.

Pretty much this. People just too scared; tired of revolutions; don't care so he can basically rule for as long, as he can. And if/when he will be thrown out of Ukraine, propaganda machine can just say: "To manage peace in the world, we have decided to let those territories go as whole NATO is fighting us and we would never fight a nuclear war with them. We are peacemakers, liberators - not killers of the whole world. *some patriotic speech about ancestors fighting fascism/nazism in WW2 and falling of western civilization under Nazism from Ukraine"

It's 1984 over here. Full-scale shit show
