And Russia's actions over the past year have done nothing to stop such talks.

I'll buy the "trying to shift away" line when I see concrete evidence. Right now it's all talk, as though India is hoping Western relations with Russia will magically go back to the 2000s and they can just continue on without having done anything tangible to move away from Russian alignment.

Ha! Sure, they "volunteered!" Totally not corvée/conscripted labor at all guys!

As for the "shock brigades," I quote Joshua Stanton in an article he wrote about the construction of a tourist resort KJU built AFTER the ban on tourism in NK.

>"just stop here, mid-sentence, and ponder the idiocy of taking people away from their normal jobs that might involve useful work to build a fucking resort hotel and then having the gall to call them “shock troop brigades”..."

It reminds me of this cheesily-militaristic, Charge-of-the-Light-Brigade-style speech NK gave in regard to a ski resort they built ten years ago.

China's 12-point position paper.

1-4, and 12 can't happen while Russia occupies Ukraine.

5-7 were ideas already ruined by Russia when they directly attacked humanitarian corridors, schools, and power plants.

8 is especially laughable.

> 8. Reducing strategic risks. Nuclear weapons must not be used and nuclear wars must not be fought. The threat or use of nuclear weapons should be opposed. Nuclear proliferation must be prevented and nuclear crisis avoided. China opposes the research, development and use of chemical and biological weapons by any country under any circumstances.

> In 2020, the US estimated that China had nuclear warheads numbering in the low-200s and expected the stockpile to double within a decade. Just two years later, China has reached that mark and could have some 1,500 nuclear warheads by 2035 if they continue to expand their stockpile at the current pace, according to the 2022 China Military Power report released Tuesday.

9-11 are what they really want.
