I assess the police are investigating a possible crime

I wish they had more consistent support. It was hard for them to compete only having a single screen and without upgrading the equipment. Still, I loved it. I think they could’ve done so much more to make in weird and interesting with themed movie nights, stuff for groups, etc., but I’m not sure that’s something that would’ve worked with AMCs structure. If AFI owned it I think it would be a much better deal. Who knows what they’ll do with it. Think it’s an historic building.

No sarchasm at all but has been a long long time since I've seen a movie their but I assumed they would be a theater that would be well supported given it's history and popularity.

Neither are super warehousy (DC doesn't have much of that scene at the moment) but both are good vibes. Flash might be better as a tourist cause it's in a more dense/more things to do/more accessible part of town.

The building itself, if you call it Love/Dream any cabbie can find it but the closest cross street would be Okie and Fenwick. 1350 Okie St NE.

Reply to If you own a car in DC, which insurance company had the cheapest quote? by SnooTomatoes1428
Erie. Pay $85/month ($1,020/year) for a 10+ year old Honda Accord in NW.
My general rule of thumb for insurance is: if I see their commercials, their rates include advertising and are too high for my taste.

Lol I sense sarcasm. It was a great place. Former usher there is now at Angelika in northeast. Still miss Uptown. That was such a major bonus living in that place. Probably my favorite thing.

They let everyone in as long as you have a ticket.
You’ll def see people who were dragged there by their friends, but for the most part people are there because they like the music.
Most people are pretty chill and once the drunk people leave around 1-2 the vibe is top notch.

The doors at DC shows are the opposite of Berghain lol in the best way. All are welcome! I usually secure tickets ahead of time too.

NuAndroids is currently using the old DCWinery/Love/Dream space on Okie. They certainly have some solid bass, you can feel it blocks away.

thank u!! would u say flash and nuandroids are both unpretentious crowds who love the music? I’ve been to techno raves in the us where they started turning away even the ppl with tickets (aka trying hard to be berghain lol)
waltc97 t1_jba285l wrote
Either one will fit the vibe. As nuandroids is still finalizing a space, it will be more warehouse -like as their shows have tended to be pop ups at literally commercial/industrial buildings at times.
Flash is great for dancing and has wonderful sound quality. I often go without caring who is playing.
Echostage is more mainstream but still excellent.
You may also want to see what might be at Soundcheck

My old ass can't tell the difference between "mid/late 20s" and "college crowd". But you will definitely find that at Flash these days IMO.

Honestly the lattes I’ve gotten at the Cleveland Park location have been really bad and way overpriced. Wish they’d get a barista at that spot

Thank you for that explanation. I mean, icon or no, I have never seen such a wide range of consistently burnt stuff, it's so weird. I take my $ elsewhere.
