Yeah, I think we got lucky(er) here in PGC, we've got a few of the younger people who are actual progressives on the council this time. A few of the corrupt old guard are still around but the change has started. I'm sorry to hear about your experiences. That's real shitty.

Family of four, including two teenagers: $1200 a month, or about $300 a week (+/-) for five days a week (we eat out the other two, which isn't included here), mostly from Harris Teeter (with Trader Joe's and Whole Foods mixed in occasionally). The highest prices for me were in late 2022, but prices have been going down a bit over the past few months. We do all the meal prep at home (or rather, I should say I do all of the meal prep, except for lunches which my daughter cooks for herself on Sundays and Wednesdays).

So were those photoshopped or not? Does she have three abnormally large toes per foot or are her toes crumbled together from trying to fit them into narrow, pointy-toes shoes her whole life? I just saw them last night and nearly vomited. Ma’am, just say no to open-toed shoes, for the love of anything holy.

I definitely would recommend the Hillwood Estate if your family is into decorative arts. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

There should be a few new exhibits in DC around that time including an afrofuturism one at the National Museum of African American History & Culture. Also, the bird house at the zoo will be open—but you will need tickets. There’s a Disney-themed exhibit that will be opening at the American History Museum.

For festivals, besides those mentioned there will be the Georgetown French Market at the end of the month.

The Kennedy Center is having a river themed festival — there’s one performer that makes instruments out of ICE https://www.kennedy-center.org/whats-on/festivals-series/riverrun/

If they enjoy art, I’d recommend going to the Phillips collection. If you can swing tickets, the Glenstone is always a treat too.
