Thanks for the feedback! Great to know that maybe it’s my perception of CrossFit and not the reality.

I'm guessing you haven't been here that long. It was bad.

Relatedly, if you’re dumb lost and need to really look at google maps, try to pop into a cvs or something to do so, not be out at night staring at your phone on the sidewalk. I also learn the routes to my house that are well transited, or have a lot of hotels, bars, and businesses open at night. Try to avoid walking home on quiet empty streets

There’s also scams unfortunately where some folks ask for donations. If you want to donate, go to an orgs website. I can think of another recurring scam where a very nice young couple say they just moved in for law school and need cash for a car lock out. Unfortunately it’s hard to be nice in a city but just say no sorry.

Heart goes out to all affected, but just think of all the starving GS-9s whose rents were raised by 25% by Equity, and think to yourself, there but for the grace of God and rent control go I

Qui Qui DC is really good and doesn’t fit in any of the categories.

Agree, don’t treat people like they don’t exist if it looks like they’re just asking for cash. Just say sorry and keep going. If you’re a young woman and a man is leering, do not make eye contact.

None of those cities save NYC and SF can touch the walkability of DC’s urban core.

Flat-out not true. For rent controlled units, the max rent increase for a vacancy is 10%.

Are you a landlord or something? We don’t want higher rents while salaries remain stagnant lol

There were 4 homicides on Sunday. It seems like there's been an increase in the frequency of carjackings lately. Though I don't have access to all the data.

What is clear, however, is that criminals perceive a total lack of serious consequences. As a result, I think carjackers see little risk in committing these carjackings. Especially for juveniles.

If you bikeshare it can even be faster and you can mostly do it all on trails separated from cars. I’ve done Berliner to wharf to Nats to Kennedy center. Highly recommend

If you produce alcohol it's a different kind of license, and if you do it on a farm it's another different kind of license. The rule doesn't apply to wineries, for example.

I have been here for 16 years. So it's been awhile. I have never experienced any problems with the DMV.
