Most likely just someone not knowing/paying attention to what they were doing. It could be a distress signal, but I feel like there are so many other easier ways to signal distress that this isn’t that, despite that being what it’s supposed to indicate.

MPD hasn’t done traffic enforcement seriously for much longer than that - the calls for automated enforcement are in part because it’s not getting done otherwise. The officers don’t seem interested in doing it and having the same people receiving calls means that it’s not anyone’s priority.

There are usually reseller fees on Ticketmaster once it is sold out.
Sometimes additional production hold seats are released day of. Good luck!

The outcome is you slow down, yellow means come to a stop, reds mean you are stopped. If you failed to do that, pay the ticket and realize people live around there

In general, red means stop.

Don’t let restaurant owners gaslight you into thinking these fees are because of I82, which hasn’t even gone into effect. This is just some restaurants trying to milk another 20% out of your pocket.

Labyrinth also has/had a bulletin board where people advertise games. There have also been a handful of posts on this sub regarding RPGs, I suggest doing a few searches and DMing the people in those threads

Did you run the red? Just pay the ticket and drive more safely next time. Take responsibility for your actions.

Reply to comment by Loki-Don in Chief: DC Police Staffing at Its Lowest in Decades by thinkcontext
Again, if you take a rolling three-year average of murder rates for each year from 2013-2022, they consistently increase over the last decade, mirroring the decline in employed police officers. Are you able to understand what I’m saying?* We are talking numbers here so there’s not really room for interpretation.
*So the rolling murder rate in 2013 would be the average from 2011-2013, for 2014 it would be the average of 2012-2014, etc. This helps flatten the otherwise moderately noisy year-over-year data to generate longer term trend lines.

I’d check those numbers again buddy. And how many of those cities also had declining numbers of police officers?

👍🏼 I was probably confused as school is on Anacostia Ave, and it’s right on the Anacostia River, on the Anacostia trail.

Fyi: this neighbor isn't anacostia, though it is off of the anacostia trail; it's called Parkside Mayfair, near deanwood

If the staff aren't seeing their wage or benefits increasing following the administration of the service charge the staff should find an employer that is more fair to them.
It truly is not your responsibility as a customer to solve.
Trying to solve an employer/employee problem by putting it on the customer through tip inflation is going to result in more customers staying home in the long run and that's bad for restaurant owners and servers alike.
