Because the sub is about the DC area, not just DC. See Rule 3:
>Please keep content relevant to the people, places, and things in and about the DC area.
>
>This includes the immediate suburbs in Virginia (Alexandria/Arlington/Fairfax/Loudon)

what other state is 100% urban?

$5,000 seems like a pretty high cutoff. Doesn’t seem like it will do anything against the majority of these events which seem to be clothing and convenience store flash mobs. At the least it should be stolen goods value and damage to property value and compensation value for the business needing to be closed for repairs.

Exactly it was probably deemed not equitable or ended up in the trash. Seems like there’s a huge culture of doing nothing in Dc govt / city

Is it really only $122k a year that makes someone top 10%?! So like, a GS13 is basically in the top 10%

This is not why we won’t become a state. We won’t become a state because we vote over 95% democratic. Puerto rico stands a much better chance one day of becoming a state then DC does

DC government has identified 200 or so high risk individuals responsible for what is claimed to be a very high proportion of crime. And then has done what with that list? I don’t know if anyone knows

I was just thinking in terms of is anyone on the council actively trying to get rid of this and open the market up? i know there was a member who was looking in to it but was not re-elected.

When was the last time the board of ethics did anything good? I mean you can complain great, but, have they done much and if so on what matters? Serious questions. Not something I follow.

I don’t remember 2010 or 2016 being this bad. I mean it was bad but this year’s swings are hitting different.

The DC AG is responsible for all juvenile prosecutions, except when children are charged as if they were adults.

Why is Virginia news being posted here?
Actually, I know why based on the many crime posts. But it seems to be that many posters actually hate DC/the region.

It’s no worse than what happens in 2010 or 2016. I recall decent weather before massive snowstorms. In 2010, I believe, that there four straight snow days from OPM. And there really should have been a fifth.

Atomic is my favorite in that area. Cleveland Park Bar and Grill also has a nice little rooftop. Nanny O’brien’s for irish pub.
