Reply to comment by Sheikh_Yerbuti in The DC music scene has been remarkably innovative and influential. I'm putting together a playlist that captures some of the early trailblazers and contemporary artists continuing to push boundaries. Who else should be included? by ATroopOfDans
Honestly, I would love just a whole playlist of DC Go-go. I fucking love Go-Go - I am the random ass white girl dancing horribly in the middle of the dance floor every time I am somewhere with a live band.

I think they do fine talking about crime for the most part but I don’t appreciate how the DCist and many DC leaders dismiss property crime as “not that serious”.
It contributes to a general sense of disorder and feeling “unsafe” when you walk down the main stretch of a neighborhood and there’s boards on many windows because of vandalism and burglary.
Not to mention it’s totally disrespectful to the business owners many of whom are small business owners that depend on their stores for their livelihood.

Yep.The ones who let their 15 year old girls out at 2AM to stab people are the ones we need to turn to for the solution. Or are they the problem?

Pro tip: you can have the carcass saved and taken home for your liking, soup stock etc. You'll see this with other patrons while dining. My mother did this often. Maybe a Chinese thing lol

If anything I am feeling gaslit that this sub thinks DC is a post-apocalyptic hell scape when my urban lifestyle is generally lovely.

that article doesn’t really get into the corruption laced bid process but good grief what a damning article. “we projected out dc was full of idiots so we could put out shitty odds compared to other books and people would just bet instead of looking for the best odds.” what a predatory practice.

Actual publications still reimburse critics for dining expenses, which still influences their opinion. Most people enjoy things more when they are free.

Just woke up a couple days ago to create a reddit account and post three times all about dc crime being underreported or otherwise worse than it seems. Ok. Totally normal behavior.

It is the absolute worst gambling app i’ve ever seen. The books offerings are not competitive (e.g you can only place the most boring bets) There is no competition, and they somehow lose money.

Ahhh if that’s where OP was heading then absolutely. That’s a big miss for a business where the house has the upper hand.

Reply to Opinion | Is D.C. juvenile justice a revolving door? We need to know. by Maxcactus
Unbelievable. I have zero faith in the DC Attorney General's Office to do anything to stop juvenile crime. Hopefully someone on the DC Council starts to demand more data be released publicly so we can see which cases are being "papered" and which ones are not.
