Most embassies do walk in services - Vietnam is not at all unusual in this regard. All you do is show up in person during the consulate’s hours with sufficient time to be seen before they close. Appointment only is actually actually pretty unusual.

You can also hire a courier/passport service to submit it in person if you don’t want to go in person or mail it FYI.

Marks Duck House or Hong Kong Pearl are both great choices and are both located in Falls Church, VA. You will get better service at Marks Duck House and piss poor service at Hong King Pearl (but their Dim Sum is very good)

I’m not sure why you’re excluding go-go, but I feel like a DC playlist should be mostly this and definitely some Chuck Brown. If you can spare some space in five hours of “punk, noise, experimental”… consider EU (Experience Unlimited). I feel like even people who don’t know go-go have heard Da Butt at some point in their lives.

I moved to SW waterfront close to when you left. Some of the physical changes are the Wharf development’s effect. It’s a different neighborhood from Maine Ave to P street, and you also run into Audi field now. Also Navy yards area has grown exponentially in apartment buildings and restaurants.

I think that DC culture changed somewhat during COVID. It has the same markers, but the pace has slowed down. Downtown areas are busy, but not frenetic like they used to be. That might charge the further we get from COVID years.

Welcome back!

Hi, thanks for the reply! I’m not familiar with the facility by the dupoint cafe since I have never been there. I was just hoping I could somehow make an appointment with them for a new passport. I have been trying to reach them over phone with no luck. I currently live 4 hours away so I am unable to check in person if I can schedule an appointment.
