Reply to Do I need to have an “official” research reason to view Library of Congress collections? by GuessMyName23
Absolutely not! If they are asking about the specifics of your research, it's only to be able to help with further suggestions, and possibly to track data. (For example, they want to know how many people are researching each country, so area rooms may ask for that.) But have at it - no justification needed!

Go to Maryland, as sports betting is still illegal in Virginia, unless Youngkin changed it.

Free garage at work! Love it. Permit pass for street parking. Bought an older used car. Small, so it fits anywhere. No car payments and cheap insurance.

If you download the Charm Pass app on your phone, you can actually buy a ticket as you are sitting on the train.

DC is home to the social science MAs so they’re not making what an MS would make.

I like most of the local shops for different reasons, but I think Menya Hosaki has the highest quality bowl. house made noodles make a big difference. just my two cents

The best is probably Daikaya, although downstairs isn't the sort of place you'd linger. Upstairs is beautiful but IIRC only has ramen on Fridays.
I've also really enjoyed Toki Underground on H street. And if you're coming from the Maryland side you could always stop early on one of your trips and hit Ren's Ramen in Wheaton.
And congratulations to your wife!

I see both sides of this honestly. Like, it's nice if you're alone to have a coffee, do a bit of work. On the other hand, I've been in situations where I'm at a coffee shop with a friend where we've specifically met to chat and we're getting, like, icy death stares from teleworkers nearby since we were talking and upsetting the 'office' setting, LOL.

I know this won’t fit your playlist but hands down the most widely known and enduring dc artists are Francis Scott Key and John Phillips Souza. I will go now.

Sorry for the down votes, us, DC-ians are very sensitive about our city.

but regardless, i can assure you its safe. 90% is very safe, the other 10% are also safe, but you need to know your ways, just like anywhere else.

Nope. I've done research in that section and nobody asked or cared. But they were very nice!

Eastern Market/Capitol South/Potomac Ave metro out to whichever of the blue orange or silver line arrives to the station first is my guess
