This isn’t remotely true. There are some estimates that proportion of people don’t have cash reserves on hand to handle an emergency with cash if they didn’t get a paycheck— but that doesn’t mean they’d be homeless. There are lots of sources of liquidity most people can tap before that happens, nevermind getting some temporary help from family or friends.

This is a long term thing but I just don’t buy clothes that wrinkle. I can’t be bothered to iron so I won’t buy anything that has wrinkles in the store.

Alternatively, wear your work clothes to the gym so they don’t wrinkle, and then keep them folded nicely in the gym locker.

We have a couple of food courts and a restaurant so workers don’t have to leave the Pentagon to have breakfast or lunch. There is also a few 24/7 options for shift workers. The main food court is on the ground floor, and others sprinkled throughout. There are also, banks, credit unions, dry cleaners, jewelry store, CVS, clothing, shoe shine/repair, vendors, flower shop, optical/vision, barber sho, etc.

jesus is actually depicted as walking on water, so it's correct to point that out, but he's not depicted as belonging to an anachronistic racial category, so I thought it was worth correcting that point

I think walking on water is best seen as a very effective literary device, rather than a literal description of an event that took place

also walking on water isn't necessarily physics-defying, for example certain insects do it, as in the notorious W. B. Yeats poem -- and if it gets cold enough it's a pretty ordinary thing to do

Jesus isn't anything like the people who claim he existed. If he did exist he was certainly brown skinned. He would never support guns and would be against whatever twisted modern cause people believe he would support. He would be against the church and its leaders. If he did exist and came back today as people claim those same people would reject him. Lol.

The point being these anti trans people are almost always devout religious people who believe in fairy tales. Meanwhile they reject people's reality. So my job is to point out the irony in their shitty fake beliefs. And sorry to call it fake or fairy tales, I like to use the language of Trump sometimes. Always hilarious to see them lose their shit when his exact words are used to describe them.

I was mostly joking, I have a full time job working with at NGO in DC, but I am currently looking into the Army Reserves as a way to get Intel experience and clearance and generally boost my career. Plus national service is very important to me

If you are being serious, without knowing your background there are a million ways to get a clearance.

You could just a get one of hundreds of thousands of jobs as a contractor for companies like Booz Allen, Accenture, or thousands of small businesses. They need people to do any number of jobs.

For example, while food service is unlikely to be cleared at a Secret or Top Secret level, facilities maint. can be.

You can also consider joining the army, navy, air force, reserves.

Schwab is encouraging investments but living paycheck-to-paycheck numbers are in that area.

You read through the comments and many are pretty caustic from people who refuse to believe homelessness could happen to them. Sure, it isn't a straight drop, there are catch holds along the way but all are temporary.

OP argues, and I agree, that secure accommodation is the key. Countries which have taken that approach have been way more successful than the US. Coincidentally those countries also have a significantly lower wealth gap than we do.

Would this be an ongoing availability or just this weekend? Cause there's plenty of non profits that are looking for volunteers but they generally want consistent, long term ones, not just one time drop ins.

Congressional Cemetery does drop in grave clean up throughout the summer but I don't think they've started that quite yet this year.

City Wildlife is always looking for folks, but they generally want long term volunteers. If you've ever wanted to bottle feed a baby squirrel, this is the place lol.
