Planet Word is a super fun and interactive museum for all ages! It has games and photo opps and karaoke and all sorts of fascinating and engaging stuff. And for a bonus you can grab food downstairs at either Immigrant Food or Atrium Cafe and then eat in Franklin park across the street! They even have a little playground, fountain, plenty of greens spaces, and actually nice public restrooms easily accessible. Plus you're right next to the McPherson Square metro or plenty of buslines if you wanted to travel around the city some more.

I have not been in that area recently. If the signs are as confusing as you claim, it may be worth it to contest it. However, another commenter says that the camera and lower limit are clearly marked, so it's up to you whether you truly think you didn't have appropriate warning.

For what it's worth, going 41 in a 25 zone is potentially very dangerous. "The average risk of severe injury for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle reaches 10% at an impact speed of 16 mph, 25% at 23 mph, 50% at 31 mph, 75% at 39 mph, and 90% at 46 mph. The average risk of death for a pedestrian reaches 10% at an impact speed of 23 mph, 25% at 32 mph, 50% at 42 mph, 75% at 50 mph, and 90% at 58 mph." (source).

Dc dmv (and really all the dmv I’ve been to) requires two things: proof of identity and proof of address. Some jurisdictions are stricter than others, but identification from an accepted source is what they’re looking for. A valid US passport should be acceptable in all US jurisdictions. Just like in most states, military ids and ids from federal agencies are also usually acceptable.

For number 1 having one fare all the time does simplify use of the system. However, you inspired me to play around with the fare calculator and it looks like the only people who would be having fares reduced are traveling during peak periods and currently pay up to $3.30 per fare. At $3.45 there's a fare increase. For off peak travelers unless you're currently paying the base $2 fare, in which case it will stay the same, you will see an increase (even the $2.05 fare goes up).
