Something alot of these articles miss is that non-tech companies that are hiring laid off tech workers from big tech companies lack the technical infrastructure that made everyones’ lives easier at big tech companies. As an engineer at a non-tech company, you have to deal with a ton of bs by yourself and there’s no unified system, codebase, libraries, design language, etc. The salary, options, etc are all obviously worse but the day to day becomes a real headache when you leave big tech for these non-tech companies.

I travel pretty frequently for work and it seems like it's always an early flight. My advice, sked a cab! They're cheaper, they don't cancel at the last minute, and you can use an app to track them, pay in advance, etc... I've used yellow cab - no complaints.

My last 6AM flight, I sked an Uber the night before, and at 5:15AM, Uber had an issue and it was a fucking mess to get to DCA on time.

This all seems like a lot. We didn’t do a newborn photo shoot due to covid safety precautions for unvaccinated newborn. I did a pregnancy photo shoot and paid $20 per pic digital download for a 30 min session (which ended up being 45 min between Spanish Steps & Mitchell Park as two locations). I didn’t need more than 10 pics of me with a belly.

I think it's the same to the employee, whether wages or tip income would be taxed as ordinary income. Not positive. If there are cash tips that aren't reported though of course it's probably 0% except for that one honest person. Who uses cash these days though?
