I don't think you realize you would be in an area with regular shootings/murders (albeit, it's mostly beef between people who know each other)/mentally ill homeless who would harass you/regular car break-ins/car jackings. When I lived near there, my sister would refuse to walk to the grocery store without me during the day because she would feel uncomfortable/harassed/was followed.

Hate hate hate those Braxton Hicks oops, Myers Briggs things. Such a waste of time and completely useless. They forced the staff to do one of these in a meeting at my office once; when we went around the table to say what personality type we were, I held up the page and said, “I’m the person who wants to strangle all the people on the opposite corner of the chart.” -nervous laughter-

I think the key is that larger places are being sold as luxury condos, not rented.

They basically accused OP of being racist for implying that she was racially profiled. And that the store is owned by a Navajo woman and therefore they're exempt from all accusations of racism.
ETA: I tried really hard to use a 3rd party site to link to the deleted comment, but apparently user-deleted comments can't be recovered by Unddit or Reveddit. The original reply on the Google page was also deleted and replaced.

Is this the olden days of your younger, cooler, more confident self before you started spending hours per day on NextDoor and Twitter obsessing over crime?

Puts him away for a while though so he can't kill anyone else. Not like DC where nothing happens to criminals and they're free to carjack and assault and rob over and over again.

Rosslyn does have a height limit because of the airport. I think Tysons doesn't, but it's such a sprawl.

This is also the same guy who recently claimed GW Hospital was closed due to having an Ebola outbreak... and then refused to admit he was wrong.

Parts of DC have always been unsafe, just like any other city in the US. Maybe your perception of it has changed

Unfortunately, that is what the store wants…they do not want you to return. I don’t know why they picked that site if they didn’t want (black?)customers- maybe somewhere like Chevy Chase would have been better. So they are rude and try to intimidate the clientele that they find undesirable. With the hope that they will never come back to their store. That’s not the way that works, M&G. I think I’m gonna pay them a visit.

I’m from the south, particularly the suburbs, but I’ve been reading some comments on trulia and people say it’s a hit better? But I think I’m going to drive down there and take a look

This feels like the worst of both worlds. The vibe is trending as barren and unsafe as it was in the late '90s, but it's expensive just like it was in the late 2010s. Also, I'm not just out of college anymore, so my tolerance for sketch has dropped with time.

Get enough residents together and claim constructive eviction with the landlord. I’m sure if 30 people are ready to roll out they’ll do something.

True, but I’d take a fedex box with in-unit laundry vs shared laundry and any chance of roaches. Hell no, fuck that.

Yeah… its wrongly tied to Reagan when in reality it was a large progressive movement and a push to medications as the new wonder drug that would fix it.
“The belief then was widespread that the same scientific researchers who had conjured up antibiotics and vaccines during the outburst of medical discovery in the 50's and 60's had also developed penicillins to cure psychoses and thus revolutionize the treatment of the mentally ill.”
