I know a retail trader who was investigated by the SEC after a very lucky trade about a decade ago. There is no way the SEC doesn’t already collect data on transactions. Right now It’s likely only at major price or volatility inflection points. They are probably using ML to catch insider trading now. Quite concerning

My prediction is for 6 months, not for 2 days. So closing price today at $308.54 is 2% under what I predicted as a low ($407). If I am wrong by 2% for a week out of 6 months, I consider that a win. Specially if I’m correct for the other 5 months and 21 days. Don’t you think it is too early for conclusions on a 6 month prediction made 2 trading days ago? Now, if in a month SPY is down to $380, then I would be the first to say that I was wrong. But, if in the next 5 months SPY makes it to $427 or higher and stays above $400, I will consider my prediction for the 6 month period pretty darn accurate.

I used to trade crypto. Longed the 30k dip and then shorted 60k. And then utilized the profits to long at 33-34k again and then shorted the 48k. Then like a poker addict i went all in at 33-34k hoping for a 100k "The dream". But got rekt holding Elon bags.

Then i switched to stock market. Rode all the rally up with crypto stocks and other high betas and then bought the inverse etf for the way down. Rinse and repeat until nov 2nd week.

Then there were many naked option plays here in my country nifty stock market as an arbitrage for usa-india play using timezone. Also tried to play legendary 7yr shmita cycle and Yen carry trade.

Wbu sir ? What were your best plays?

don't see a problem. SEC actually cares about us, FINRA just regulates the broker.

I like it. SEC getting some authority.

it must be needed. Nobody in the market wants more complexity.

the tech age is incredible however. It must be making it possible.

those claiming privacy.. we are already known anyway, every move.

The best way to put a stop to this is to build a bot that can obfuscate the data to the point that it becomes impossible to track anything by making 100s of trades every few seconds, and I mean trades that might gain or lose a few cents

I would love to see them track your actual basis price so I don't have to figure it out. The government sends me my basis price I'm okay with that. What I'm sick of is the fact that I pay so much taxes and I know a bunch of tax evading assholes that don't. I had to form a corporation just to keep from getting eaten alive by taxes because nobody else pays them.
