Prove what? Mexico had already abolished slavery and the Texas white colonists had slaves. Texas also joined the Confederacy 30 years later. The Texas Revolution was in large part a fight to preserve slavery.

I counted on google maps. I saw a half dozen or so at St. Louis, fewer at Memphis and about the same at New Orleans. And I counted multiple span (separate bridges for each direction) freeway bridges as a single bridge.

Jesus... giving up a dream of living in London in the early 1970s to move back to Yugoslavia. She would have probably had quite a different life in the UK, though I'm not sure what opportunities there were for Serbian expats in London 50 years ago. Maybe she would have ended up in the US.
