Truman insured the Vietnam war.
The CIA was working closely with Ho Chi Minh and the Vietminh in the fight against the Japanese invaders in Vietnam. The Roosevelt administration had adopted a postwar decolonization strategy. Neither the collaborator Vichy French, nor DeGaulle were in no position to demand the return of their Vietnam colony. For no good reason or consideration, the US violated our foreign policy goals, betrayed the Vietnamese and doomed Vietnam, the French and the US to decades of terrible warfare.

Bare breasts in Airplane: PG. You’ve always been able to have some nudity without an R rating. Of the sex and nudity in Titanic, the sex steaming up the car is way more pushing the envelope than nudity not involved in sex.

Most battles of the American War of Independence were field battles. The Patriot is historical fiction.
The Boer War talk Britain about how to counter insurgents by cutting off their supply lines and taking the war to them. The Boer leaders got the shock of their lives once Kitchener took over.

I remember my G rated movies having the word “damn” in them. And when PG 13 came out, they could say “fuck,” but only once.

The event is called Lucca Comics and Games and has panels, meet and greets, interviews and on stage performances happening. It's definitely a comicon :)

Britain became skilled in counterinsurgency post ww2 during the decolonisation of Asia. Historically, for a time they were second to none in field battles eg Waterloo. Constant drilling meant they were well disciplined in battle; keeping formation, holding the line, reloading and firing weapons while under fire etc. It was this that led to problems in the Boer war, and also the American war of independence. When the enemy used guerrilla tactics instead of engaging in the pitched battles they were trained for, they were at a bit of a loss how to respond.

The United States did a similar thing during the Great depression. They founded the Civilian Conservation Corps. It was a program that provided jobs for unemployed young men. They went and built a lot of our national parks. Last year I went to a birthday party hosted in a stone pavilion in a national park that had photos taken of people from the CCC building it.

Some of the songs are catchy but the characters act in no way normal people should and I GET THAT is the point but I guess they just did too good of a job? It's the same reason I don't watch the Office: they just did too good a job of making these characters annoy the piss out of me.

Indeed, Britain allied with Japan to fight off the Vietnam insurgency, just months after having been fighting them.
Britain had always been a reluctant enemy of Japan, there was far more closeness between the countries in culture (Britain had taught Japan's Navy and had been allies with Japan ever since the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905), than there was between the USA and Japan.

Thats fine :) Its just a movie that has some following.
Personally I love RHPS. It reminds me of when I watched it with friends over bad pizza. It reminds me of good times. It gives me nostalgia for things that I've never personally experienced. I love the music itself and I have seen the play a few times over my life. Sure the plot is dumb. Sure the characters make no sense. But to some people, me included, the movie distills a certain feeling that I like and delivers it perfectly.
I understand why someone wouldnt like it. And thats fine. I personally dont like lots of things other people like. We're all different. Just because you are bi, and CD dont tink that you "should" like it. I'm a cis white male, absolutely nothing remarkable about me.
Its just a movie :)

Although the workhouses were not great they were not exactly as you say. In my family research i have found several relatives who were born lived or died in one. They were the closest thing many had to medical facilities. The idea was to make them a home for the destitute but not be so comfortable people wanted to stay.
You also had to go to the town of your birth to be accepted in one.
A hospital in my town in north London until recently had buildings that were originally from the workhouse it started out as

Yeah it's really neat! I'm not into anime and comics but you don't even need a ticket to enter Lucca during the festival, you just buy one if you wanna go to the meet and greets and that kind of stuff
All the people in costume walking by old churches and through picturesque alleyways really make it kind of magical.

I go every year and can confirm that it is a really good event. Cosplay is not only related to manga, anime and video games. Two years ago I saw this guy who was dressed as a street ramen vendor, walking around the streets selling freshly made ramen.
