It totally sucks that society expects us to lose our childlike joy and positive behavior to enjoy life and try and discover new things.

Keep doing you! Don’t grow up and become a boring person! 😁

Dude, hope someone else picked it up, who really needs it.

If it makes you feel any better, I forget stuff all the time. Once on holiday in the Florida Keys (from the UK but living in Kuwait at the time), I drove 10km from beach to hotel with the boot (trunk for the Yanks on here) wide open. Got all the way there without realizing and the only thing that fell out of the back was the rucksack, with the passports in them 🫣. Needless to say, I rushed back to the spot, where some local fellow took great delight in filming the handing of the rucksack that he’s held onto for half an hour…I’m probably on YouTube somewhere, under “dumbass Brit drives off with trunk open” 🙈😂

Stay sober, don't drink that much again. I'm not going to judge you since everyone messes up in life, especially being young, I've also made bad mistakes in my past.

Just think about what you did or might have done, and think about what kind of person you are because of doing so, do it without trying to cover it or make it less bad.

Think about what kind of person you are when you do that, when you are drunk and start doing those wretched things. Now, do you want to be that person? You are now, but you don't have to continue being that person. You can change, by not committing the same mistakes and being better. Getting drunk and acting like that only brings shame and bad feelings, it's not worth it.

Life is like a chess game, you can't undo moves, but you have to try and do the best you can with what you have right now.

Don't let people here on Reddit make you feel bad.

But change, be better, stop drinking, get your shit together.

Please don’t beat yourself up about it too much. Obviously it’s understandable you feel bad about what happened but it was a genuine accident and the kid is fine so that’s all that matters at the end of the day. You can’t control how the parents feel so I wouldn’t obsess over what they’re thinking because that will drive you nuts.
