I imagine it is annoying but the takeaway is you have a lot of people who care about you so much, deviation from expected patterns sends out alarm bells. Some kids don't get that kind of love from their family. Some kids go missing and no one notices for days, weeks, months.

planning to go no contact as soon as i’m 18, but i guess that never stops them. they did the same thing to my mom almost every day when she was in her mid-20’s living two hours away.

my mom was in a rehab plan, meaning my grandparents had total authority over me for about 6 months prior to this. since she lives with them rent-free and they could call child protective services on her for the smallest things now, i understand she doesn’t have much of a choice. it’s mostly forced submission :(

My mother did similar to me multiple times. Eventually she did it while I was hosting an international guest at her home. Everyone was happy and excited at the start. Then she got so stressed at my being in another city with them that she demanded WE come home early. Not me, but both of us. The plan was 10PM return, yet she made the demand to start returning at 7.
This absolutely would destroy the night so I fought it, but eventually she won the argument with me. My friend told her that she's being absurd and outright declined however.
So she revoked him from returning.
An international young adult who came here on a shoestring budget.
Thankfully he was able to crash at a mutual friend's place that night and I went home. I then did the worst thing I could do to her after that, absolute silence. This sounds laughable unless you know my mother. Silence, and the void of information it brings, is murder to her.
By the time she acknowledged that I appeared upset I laid it down in absolutely simple terms, in as few words as possible. That will never happen again, or this silence will become permanent.
Message received and respected. (with growing pains, but respected).

Disown, (vb), what you should do to your grandparents.

Why does your mom let your grandparents boss you around and parent you?

This is a fuckup you can be thankful for. You may have avoided the suckiest "job" in America. They want to send you out on the street to beg - er, "fund raise" by hustling up strangers to make donations. All so this "nonprofit" can pay its directors big salaries. They prey on idealistic college students who want to "make a difference". In reality the job is little different that joining a magazine crew -- and at least the magazine crew is honest about what it's selling.
Source: Had a friend do NYPIRG one summer in college. She said it sucked. Most of their time spent pocketing cash donations to buy lunch or smoking pot
Keep looking for jobs. There are all kinds of jobs that get you out in the wilderness with no need to wear a suit. Legitimate organizations don't lie about what they're doing and have sufficient budget to actually pay staff rather than sending them out to beg for money.

It doesn’t matter what he was using it for on his own property. Jesus.
If you make the decision to let your vulnerable pet outside, then when that pet dies because of getting hit by a car, or picked up by a neighborhood freak to do god knows what, or eats something toxic to them, then that is on the owner who decided to also willingly expose their pet to hazards like that.
OP killed Milo.

Then how is it the neighbors fault that the cat died? OP being a shitty pet owner is what killed her cat.

When I was younger, I went off caffeine completely for awhile for some reason (I forget at the moment). One morning I woke up with an extreme headache and my sleepy mom suggested I take a couple of excedrine. Which I did without thinking. Went to high school. Started having heart palpitations, an anxiety attack, and fits of paranoia. It was fucked up and crazy!

The lethal dose of caffeine is something obscenely high compared to what's in commercially sold drinks like 3800mg (the equivalent of consuming like 34 red bulls fast enough none of it is processed out)
So you probably didn't OD on tea, even if one was spiked to match coffee.
HOWEVER, you might have had some other weird reaction. I know when I drank something that had 120mg of caffeine AND some form of artificial sweetener in place of sugar a while back it really messed me up for some reason.

You killed your cat. You let him out knowing the risk. You didn't watch him properly. You were neglectful. This is your fault.
All good cat owners know you keep them inside at all times but your not a good cat owner.

My fellow American, I’ve got to tell you. I felt this TIFU to the core. My fellow American, I would like to tell you that I cringed during the reading of this TIFU. As my fellow American, I would like to let you know of my clenching teeth, as I read this. My right hand closed into a fist, and my left held my phone an increasing degrees of force as I scrolled down each line. I congratulate you, fellow American, on a well written TIFU that I was lucky enough not to be in your shoes to experience firsthand.

im sorry that happened to your guest but im glad that it hopefully worked out for him. i already told them that when i’m 18 they can expect total silence, but the same thing happened to my mother when she was in her 20’s and never stopped. they lost her jobs, friends, and the rest with their antics until she was crawling back to them permanently with me latched at her hip. i made a vow to myself not to do that as well.
