As a proud father of a great kid and also a dog owner and lover, your comparrison is relevant on so many levels. Not saying that kids are dogs or should be treatet as such, but the responsibilities, the joys, and the frustrations are similar.

There is a lot of confusing info on diabetes out there. Look up Dr. Neal Barnard who is part of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. He has a book about preventing(all) and reversing(type 2) diabetes. A lot of people don't know about how fat stops your insulin from working properly and how fat stays in the blood stream for hours after consuming it, meaning high fat diets are bad for and the cause of insulin resistance when paired with processed foods. Fat and sugar on a processed food diet is the worst combo. Sugar cannot be escorted out of the bloodstream and into the cells for energy when eating high fat, causing high blood sugar levels, and causing your pancreas to keep pumping out insulin to exhaustion. Just a piece of info everyone should know.

Oh man, my mom's cousin Charlie once asked her how her son/my brother was doing over dinner (the person in question had died dramatically, and traumatically for everyone involved, about 10ish years prior, while Charlie was still in China). After we made sure he was genuinely asking about my brother, my dad piped up with "oh... You know... Still dead". Charlie just about had a heart attack.

Earl is a title, like Duke or Prince.

Just insert a first name for mister Grey. You can find out how he behaves and see if his First Name manifests itself, or if you want to stick with the “grey” theme I can list a few names you might like:

Ash Silver Storm Smokey Steel Shade Alloy Pewter

If you want a less literal grey name, you can always use a traditionally human one. Many languages have names they mean “grey”.

They’re “investigating”? lol, What are they going to do, subpoena phone company to get transcripts of your private conversations?

As far as you know all that happened is some jerk was making stuff up about other people. Ignore, and deny. Teen boys wank it to literally anything, and nobody wants to know about it anyway.

Truth or dare is a party game, you don’t need to actually tell your secrets, and anything you want to stay secret should NEVER be told to anyone. Ever.

Several months after my father died, I ran into someone we'd known for nearly 40 years, who asked how my parents were. Somehow, he hadn't heard that my father had died (which was actually rather surprising, because it was a pretty big deal in our community; his funeral was absolutely packed). I'm sure he felt terrible about it, but honestly, I felt terrible for him, and not at all for myself. I mean, it's not like I'd forgotten he had died, and frankly, it's nice to know that people continue to remember him fondly – and while I know that, if I'd been in his shoes, I'd have been absolutely mortified, I really didn’t want him to feel bad. I'm sure it's the same for OP's co-worker.
