Reply to The Last of Us: I just realized that “Ellie” is the pronunciation for the acronym ELE, which is Extinction Level Event. Anyone know if that was on purpose or a coincidence? by KBlake1982
In the movie deep impact a reporter gets word of the President speaking in hushed tones about “Ellie” and assumes he’s having an affair. It’s her whole motivation to dig into what’s happening and eventually realize the chatter she’s been exposed to is about E.L.E. - am extinction level event.

Is that the analysis that the creators gave? Or is that a common interpretation?

Nah it's a variation of Ellen which is a variation of Helen. You know just like Helen of Troy the face who launched a thousand ships similar to Ellie with the fireflies.

Adding Martin Phipps for BBC War and Peace. Which is an amazing series many haven’t seen.

I kind of wish Brian Tyler did the new Dune soundtrack because his Children of Dune soundtrack is still one of my favorite TV soundtracks and one of my favorites in general. It's in my Dune head canon with the books and the original movie soundtrack.
Summon the Worms was used really well in one of The Chronicles Narnia trailers and War Begins got a great remix for the 2009 Star Trek trailer.

Except "Prelude to War" is essentially a cover of Phillip Glass' November 25: Morning from Mishisma (1985).

They definitely won't lose any sleep over it but still, two awards is better than one. It's the reason why Stranger Things and Better Call Saul split their last seasons in half even though the 2nd half came out a couple months later. They wanted to be eligible for the Emmys in multiple different years.

I remember watching season 8, and even when Arya killed the Night King, I was hyped as fuck solely due to the music. Ramin absolutely fucking killed it the entire series run. Even though the writing dropped the ball a few times over the series (And then yeeted it off a cliff in the final seasons), the music was always absolutely on point.

Obviously we don’t look at Cosby in the same light anymore, but a show about a black family being number #1 on network television was a pretty big deal 30+ years ago.
