No martial art or self defence is 100%. most good classes would advise to run at first opportunity in a street fight than advertise ways to always win or defend yourself without risk in a street fight. It wouldn’t really be much to accurately test given how unpredictable real violence is

Would be good to see some myth busters type stuff on wild claims some make on martial arts or self defence

Ok, here’s my pitch for the next DC CW show.

It’s called “Guardians of Oa”, but all the Green Lanterns were killed off-screen before the first episode. Instead, we give three kids (one of them is Sinestro’s daughter, but looks nothing like Sinestro) a bright green Yamaha bike.

They cruise around northern Idaho every now and again and fight a guy in a banana yellow ski-mask who calls himself Parallax alongside his henchwoman, Jennifer “Bleez” Braithwaite, a corporate big wig who wears ruby earrings. Villains of the week include Hector Hammond, who is an online game streamer, and the mysterious “Larfleeze”, who is a crazy homeless man with an an orange stick that he spray painted.

They always beat the villain at the end of the episode by saying “beware our power, Green Lantern’s light,” before doing a kinda ok bike trick (we’ll poorly CGI it in post).

I think it’s gonna be a hit with the fanbase.

I think the reason why Dark Matter worked for me while The Ark doesn't is the premise. Ark has a premise that sounds dead serious, so the fact its not taken seriously is just kind of annoying. Where DM the premise was inherently pulpy and goofy if that makes sense?

Like if its campy and corny they need to stop the "we have 48 hours until we all die" plots every episode.

I enjoyed Dark Matter as well. Both shows have a very similar level of campiness, but I'm not at all surprised because both came from Ex-Stargate producers, and was also a fan of Helix even before that (Also a fan of RDM).

Modern shows have way too much focus on being serious, this is just lighthearted fun.

I was going to give a chance after the first episode but then the second episode kept up killing extras when they have a finite number of crew.

Also the cryobays are the one section of the ship that shouldn't be spinning.
