Yes, it is actually what I prefer to do with shows that do weekly releases. I did it with House of the Dragon, Atlanta, and Physical 100, and I'm currently doing it with Last of Us, Poker Face, and I'm sure a few others that I can't remember right now.

I'm similar with story-based games and podcasts. I don't really like to switch between story-based shows too much. I generally prefer to stay in the world of whatever I'm watching until I'm ready to move to the next or until the story is finished (for the season or for the series). Week by week makes me less engaged

Haha well I'm still holding judgement until I watch the show (if I ever get the chance). I would watch other interviews and the SNL sketches - he comes off as very gregarious, happy, goofy/cheeky (not in a problematic way), open and charming in a way that I could imagine coming off as tipsy if you only watched his shows, in which he plays more serious/intense/stoic roles.

I love the interview he did with longtime friend and fellow actor Oscar Isaac 3 years ago for a Wired Autocomplete Interview (which is not live). Actually they seem kind of wired in that interview, if you know what i mean lol. They are very touchy-feely but they are good friends. Oscar gives Pedro a wet willy, which to me would be a line too far but I guess they're cool lol. I mean the touchy stuff is also a power dynamic/age/gender thing.

That's an odd take on this thread. I do not doubt that Matlock had an older audience, the only thing I did was point out that the show was on not that long ago.

I also have to point out the fact that you are here, picking a fight over the age of the Matlock audience. A little self-awareness can go a long way.

It depends on what kind of TV they like.

Do they like political/crime drama? Then I recommend them Andor

Do they like episodic western/adventure? Then I recommend them Mandalorian.

This hypothetical is sort of silly though because it's not like watching Star Wars is a hard thing to do, and anyone actually interested in checking the shit out will do it on their own since Star Wars is basically everywhere. Nobody really ever needs to recommend Star Wars to another person.

Unless you are suggesting that there is no alive over the age of 73 I don't see the relevance.

> Andy Griffith fans who were 65 when the show started are over 100, if they're still alive.

Uhh... that's a completely different show. Outside of the fact that Andy Griffith played both parts there is no relevance.

Although I will point out that shows like Matlock and Andy Griffith continued to air after they ended, hell you can still watch the Andy Griffith show on OTA channels. I'm 45 and have watched, and enjoyed, both shows.

> Seriously, how many people in their 20s and 30s were watching 'Matlock' in the mid-90s? I sure as hell wasn't.

I love baseless speculation based on personal anecdotes.

Well good thing the poster never said there's no one left alive that has seen Matlock. He said the bulk of Matlock's demographic is probably dead by now, which given the numbers involved, is likely true.

I've seen people pick fights over stupid shit on reddit, but picking a fight over whether Matlock had old fans or not takes the cake.

The Simpsons used to have a running gag where all the old people in the retirement home want to do is watch Matlock and they react violently if they don’t get their way.

They dropped it because even in the late 90s, Matlock had zero cultural relevance with anyone under 70.
