The season 5 ending is the highest rated episodes of the show. The season 15 one is the 3rd lowest out of all the 327 episodes lol.

It’s because The Last of Us is in full circlejerk right now. It’s a fine show, but the internet is blowing it up acting like it’s some groundbreaking masterpiece with revolutionary performances, which it is not in my opinion.

Money is a helluva drug.
I pretty much tell anyone interested in the show “watch seasons 1 through 5, pause the last episode of season 5 at the end right when the camera is outside of the house, and pretend that’s where the series ended and 6-15 aren’t real.”

I fucking burst out laughing when I saw the Yellowjackets creators touting a five season arc. They were running out of ideas at the end of season one

Fair comparison, but this is more than just a crossover between Law & Order versions. It's local language shows produced in non-English markets that are equally high budget and exist in a shared story world. That elevates it in my mind to something really new.

Not OP but, Variety Article of top shows/movies 2022.
I think the asterisk that OP didn't include is the list they're referring to is the 2022 ORIGINAL List, not overall. But still...

More than 10 years since I watched those first 5 seasons and it's still a top favorite of mine.
Somewhere around season 10 was when I stopped watching it weekly. I caught up whenever I had a couple of episodes to binge. After 11 I didn't want to continue anymore. I started a rewatch during that hiatus and I was shocked to finally notice how far the quality had dropped with those later seasons.
After that I came across youtube clips here and there so I have a general idea what the last 4 seasons were like. I did watch the season 15 penultimate episode though and it was just complete garbage. The cgi was so bad the show looked like shit. It looked much better in the earlier seasons. And that was 15 years earlier!
I still watch Kripke's run every other year or so.

Despite media hyperbole surrounding ChatGPT/Bing, They’re not true AIs aka conscious machines. Their responses are based on predefined parameters set by their human programmers.
An AI like HAL 9000 is still far in the future.

that description could basically make it a high budget, stunt filled network cop show. they've been doing crossovers for a long time.

Reacher ... with an 8.1/10 on 132,000 reviews on IMDb, and a 92% critic score and 91% audience score on RT?
Don't know what that's got to do with anything, though. Nick Santora is the showrunner on Reacher and he has no involvement in Citadel. Citadel was originally headed by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, but they got into a spat with the Russo Bros and now David Weil is running it along with the Russos.

Do you though?
RoP had good number 100% because of the franchise, if you just make bad content that will not last indefinitely. Kinda like Star Wars.

Spock and Riker had the job of creating the work schedules. If it was ALWAYS the same person at the same console that credibility goes down (like Tom Paris, Harry Kim, and Tuvok on Voyager though they were in a situation where they literally couldn't pick up a new qualified Starfleet officer.)

I think the idea is to just copy Marvel and the Sheridanverse. Whenever you strike something mildly popular keep giving people what they want.

Cultural impact is just a vague phrase people throw out there. People used it as a knock on Avatar for a decade only for the second to make all of the money.

The Michael Emerson Brady Bunch episode and Burt Reynolds is God episode in season 9 weren't too bad. I liked the William episode too.
I actually thought season 8 had some solid mythology episodes (that season 9 kinda retroactively made worse by muddying up the alien replicant plot into supersoldier bullshit). Plus, Vienen was a very solid black oil story that was basically the only time the show teamed up Mulder and Doggett.
