There are plenty of 100% drama shows out there, no need to ruin a well-written fantasy that incorporates politics into it very well.

I don't want full CGI dragon episodes either but if you completely remove them the story doesn't even make sense. IMO they would be better used like a monster who you rarely see on screen at all, but that doesn't mean they don't exist and they are erased from the story.

If you are not a fan of fantasy you probably do not even realize what we are talking about with Lady Stoneheart. Catelyn Stark comes back from the dead. That's a pretty major plot point for a major character to come back from the dead, and they just left it out because they are clueless schmucks who didn't know what to do with it.

Came here to say From (and a few others that were already mentioned). Surprised no one else has mentioned it, but maybe because EPIX (now mgm+) isn’t super popular or well known. Anyways, I hope it gets strong viewership and continues past this season.

They'd need to buy the rights for S1 too, sounds like it was a write-off though. So unless someone manages to sneak S2 into a torrent, it'll never be seen. sigh I really love 2023 TV/film culture where completed good content just gets yeeted into the void by executives who are just beginning to realise people don't want to subscribe to 23 streaming services at once.

Maybe I shouldn’t have included Ted Lasso in the list, cause it’s a more deep and structured show (as the others you mentioned: I love every one of them!) but even in the realm of network sitcom I find it less original and funny than the ones we mentioned. Just my opinion, of course.

It’s an excellent network sitcom. It’s up there with Modern Family and the like. But like any network sitcom it can’t compete with modern comedy shows with no limitations (language, ad breaks, length and number of episodes etc) like Barry, Ted Lasso, Hacks, Mythic Quest, Only Murders in the Building, etc.

AE reminds me of old school sitcoms that children and parents could watch together. It has a TGIF vibe. So I think it’s really good at nailing that even if it isn’t as funny as a show that I wouldn’t let an 8 year old watch.

Season 1 released on DVD/BD in 2018. S2 came out on DVD only in September 2020.

In January 2020, SDS Media was formed as a joint venture of Warner (then owned by AT&T) and NBCUniversal (owned by Comcast) to release all physical media from those studios for at least 10 years. Warner always released DVDs, BDs, and 4K UHDs from HBO, so all HBO items were then put out by SDS.

If SDS chooses not to release a title on physical media into traditional brick&mortar stores, then the studio can choose to work with Allied Vaughn - the foremost North American distributor of Manufacture On Demand content - to release the item as an MOD title available exclusively online.

AV even has their own webstore, called MovieZyng, to ensure that every title they sell can be purchased (even if other sellers like Amazon or Deep Discount or whoever decide not to offer it).

Yeah, that's basically it lmao there were delays on the second half of episodes, so rather than release everything all at once like would be normal, they would rather release two parts of 2 episodes each

Yup, completely agree with both statements. I will also add that while Succession and Severance are very different, they both are compelling dramas that also have many laugh out loud moments.

Yes, and we know the reason why even though most people here won't admit it. The reviewers and awards are virtue signalling, thinking they're obligated to support a black public school show. The people who think this way have mostly lost their humor which is why they can't see AE's biggest flaw which is that it's just not a banger in terms of jokes hitting.
