Pretty good show so far but it's doing that thing where the kids are the extremely unrealistic kind of smart kids. Like the kind of 10 year olds that would get every reference in The French Dispatch and simply do not have real-life counterparts lol.

Edit - wow there's like 10 people on reddit who really hate David Cross for some reason lol. And they all have that really good justification 'Ugh I hate that guy'.

It took him 7 years to write book 5. And that was great. And before tv show even started. So I don't think that you can draw any conclusion. He is just a slow writer .

Doing a new season over a decade later worked out perfect for this show. Interested to see where everyone ends up.

Not true. There were solid climaxes on all of the first 5 seasons or so. Yes they fucked the conclusion and we are all lesser people because of it, but you cannot take those first 5 seasons away from us. They were magical

from what i remember, many episodes tend to it's own story, but there is definitely a big season story overall.

many procedurals tend to follow this format (House for instance), but in the shield, the season plot is given more importance, and the episode plot tends to be a "side quest".

I rarely binge multiple seasons back to back. Absolutely is made for burnout watching a show like that.

You could always look up a 'best of X' to watch the very best episodes, but honestly with ST and DW you're going to miss a lot of the storyline and the personal character arcs that really make these shows what they are.
Instead, maybe watch the show and if you're watching an episode and not digging it, just skip the rest and move on to the next one. You're far less likely to miss important things this way.

Loved it. Weakest part was the antagonist ex-band member, that character was, err, like written for another show. Just didn’t fit for me.

Don't force them. Only watch another episode when compelled. Slowly watched Better Call Saul until season 3 with a friend over 9 months. We are only now so invested that we're watching entire seasons in a matter of days.

You'll finish what you truly want to that way. Don't view long shows as something to tackle in mere weeks. But as yearlong projects, if they interest you.

Ok so the last season has MONEY given David, Nick Offerman, and Megan Mullally are all joining the final season's cast. The last season deff suffered from Covid restrictions, so I'm hoping the final season goes out with a bang!

I mean it certainly was out there and cant blame someone for stopping but i personally enjoyed it, it was a lot more entertaining then the first season
