Well that's missing a little bit of nuance. There's very important moments in the pilot that will be referenced all throughout the show of course, but it's still more episodic than serialized in the earlier seasons. The later seasons (4+) become fully serialized, I believe.

Just watch it all the way through. It’s one of the greatest shows. It will get crazy. I just rewatched it for the 2nd time.

I thought it was a really good first episode for a revival. Felt as close to the spirit of the original as any "way after the fact" revival series I've seen.

Just because a show is popular, doesn't mean it's good from your perspective. Look how popular Yellowstone is, and I think that's dog dirt.. I watch it though, as it's so stupid and bad, it's almost enjoyable but for completely the wrong reasons. Not a single plot line is cohesive!

I also loved The Wire, but by season 5 I felt i really lost interest so I was pretty glad it ended.

I love the original show but some reveals of where the characters are now broke my heart / pissed me off, cause how perfectly season 2 ended really made you want to imagine a happier fate for them.

This was a pretty funny reunion tho
