I agree, the comparison with Mc Donald’s and the hospitals is nonsensical, nepotism really only hurts an industry with limited spots.
That’s why it is such a problem in the movie industry and not so much in the fast food sector.

Successful shows can still price themselves out of existence, especially if they can find a cheaper replacement with better margins.

After their merger with Discovery, Warner and its divisions retroactively canceled shows that had already finished airing, shows that were partway through airing, shows that had been officially renewed, and a decent-sized movie that was in postproduction. Also CNN+ barely after launching it. They even pulled down half their own Looney Tunes library. If they think they can wring more money out of it by not airing it, they will, no matter what it is.

Because they showed a green shadow on everything that was touched by the infectious material, your eyes can follow how it goes from A to Z in the scene. It would actually be useful as an educational clip.

True, but the Mayfair show is unwatchable so you never know.

My personal pet peeve is when I hear them say things like "I used a pseudonym so I wouldn't get preferential treatment in the industry." Like, you can't be that naive. It's fine, dude, you're obviously talented, it's ok to say you got a leg up.
Allison Williams really has the right attitude.

They ride horses.
But to defend the point, western genre is about the struggle against a frontier without a justice system, with disjointed or no support of authoritative body, hostile locals, tryically set in the American West which is usually depicted as hostile difficult to live off of land.
Yellowstone is not a western, I think.
Mandalorian and Last of Us would be I think.

Neo-Western road vibes, especially last episode.
Not sure it would be accurate to describe it in whole like that though

Yea, as long as people are honest and grateful and recognize how lucky they are they’ll get a lot of leeway.

Why/how is The Last of Us a western?
Keep in mind I haven’t seen the show at all yet - I’m just curious because I thought it would be a zombie show similar to Walking Dead or World War Z.

I'd say that TLOU is less broadly "a western" than the particular setting of this part of the game/show leans into that. Though I would say the spare lawlessness of most American post-apocalyptic media finds Western tropes easy to appropriate.
What does it mean? Look out for Red Dead Redemption on premium streaming soon.

"Retcon is a shortened form of retroactive continuity, and refers to a literary device in which the form or content of a previously established narrative is changed."
That is the literary device they used. But they still changed a previously establish narrative, it is a retcon.
Not to mention that One New Day retconned Brand New Day on how it all worked because they bungled it up the first time. The writers wanted more freedom away from him being married plain and simple and they shoehorned that load we got to get there.

That annoys me so much. It’s such a good read, and every time it comes up in conversation, people reduce it to a misconception of what amount to like a page or two in the book.
