As a huge Scrubs fan (by far my favorite show), I think there's a few:

• Ted Lasso (same creator)
• Shrinking (same creator)
• Lovesick (British show on Netflix)
• MASH (huge inspiration for Bill Lawrence)
• Bojack Horseman
• Mythic Quest when they do their annual “Episode”
• Fleabag

There's also a bunch of popular shows (The Office, HIMYM) that did a good job of it once in a while, although the balance was much more skewed toward the humor half.

Possibly the best show ever to exceed my expectations in terms of enjoyment, definitely in recent times. The writing may not be up to immaculate snuff every week with the intricacies of the mysteries but it's got so many other things going for it, can watch for Natasha's character alone

not every network needs a streaming service. when it doesn't perform, they'll blame the content, but who on earth wants to pay for AMC+?

Of course you need to watch season 1 and 2 before watching season 3. It's not an anthology series.

It would be interesting to see if advertising is even effective when people are watching old shows in the background. I might have 8 episodes of the office on while I do other things, but that doesn't mean I actually paid attention for more than 15-20 minutes.

Straight up the same. People are talking about this show like it is a cultural touchstone... My wife still watches The Walking Dead (in binging format even, she's the real monster) and I haven't heard a peep about this show.

I can't find it right now but there was a selection from an earlier version of the script which absolutely nailed the cosmic horror element of the story absent from the copy-of-a-copy Stranger Things treatment we got. It would have gotten a terrible Cinemascore rating and been limited to cult classic status though.

In The Sopranos, Christopher's dad (who is deceased) is a drug addict. We sort of imagine him to be a different version of Christopher.

In The Many Saints of Newark, this was retconned so that it's actually a fake rumor. He's just some guy who isn't very similar to Christopher at all. Kinda sucks.

It is not the exception. WBD have done it with multiple shows at TNT, TBS, and HBO Max. Hell, they even did it with The Nevers at HBO!
