1st episode is probably the worst one IMO but I give it a pass because it needs to set everything up. I wouldn't say it's the only episode that does that cat-and-mouse game of the culprit knowing about Charlie's ability and maneuvering around it. The guy in the racing episode did it arguably more so

SVU has done a shit ton to bring light to survivors of assault, abuse, human trafficking, domestic violence, and the need for DNA kit follow through. They delve into police brutality and racism in the system. They have episodes showing how infuriatingly horrible the “good ole boys” club is. I know I learned a lot from watching and have spent time researching a lot of the topics discussed after seeing various episodes. They keep it about the survivors, not just cops doing cop shit.

It's not continuing any specific story of the first two seasons but I don't think you'll care for it much without knowing the relationships, personalities, and backgrounds. This first episode of the revival is a lot of catching up with the old characters and I think a lot of it would fall flat for someone who has no idea who any of the characters are. This premiere at least is definitely for people who know the show.

There are only 20 episodes total that are less than a half hour each prior to the revival, so no reason to not just track those down if the cast or premise appeals to you. This is a week to week release anyway so plenty of time to spare to watch the original ones while this comes out. If you're in the US, the first two seasons are on Hulu.

Agreed. I got my first job because of my dad and then a couple of years later, my mum joined us both. In my case, they needed warm bodies to fill space and i needed a job, and in my mums case, she made my life hell. I wouldn't call myself a nepotism baby in that sense but I'd call her worse.

I wasn't convinced after the first episode of Shrinking, either. Keep watching if you like After Life - it's very similar to it. Some scenes make you cry and then 10 seconds later you'll be laughing hysterically.

My wife and I have a policy of at least 3 episodes of a new show. If you can't grab me in the first three episodes, I'm not gonna like the rest of what you have. But some shows take a few episodes to find their rythym and casting to gel. This policy has never disappointed us.
