John C. McGinley really shines in this show, Dr. Cox is one of my favorite sitcom characters of all time. Wait til he tells you about bastards lol. Enjoy the show OP!

Nothing like Scrubs, but Reservation Dogs is a show that could have me laughing in first half and choked up by the end.

I’ve read the book. That’s why I mentioned Mike’s family’s backstory … though maybe that was in the movie too, I don’t remember.
I know that there’s more backstory there, but at no point did I think “this would be an interesting TV show.” Like I said, I’ll be watching and I’d be happy to be proved wrong. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time. But apparently questioning the premise is a no-no on this one.

This new trend where no show is actually safe anymore is really going to fuck them in the long run with talent and us the audience. Have fun saving those few extra dollars but we'll stop watching or resort back to pirating. Why bother investing any amount of time in new shows when they can be canceled even if they were renewed and popular?

Snowpiercer was doing fine on TNT, with episodes airing same day on Netflix. Its fourth and final season is pretty much complete but they just decided to fucking pull it.

you mean because Gilroy is not a super fan and that's why he was able to do something that so different and so good?

But it’s not retroactive. It’s just active. They actively changed the continuity of the story. They didn’t say “Pete and MJ were never married and that’s always been true” they said “the devil ate their marriage and now it’s never happened.”

Still a brilliant episode. I know the twist and I know all the foreshadowing and I still well up every time I watch it.

The retcon of the retcon has been retconned. Those responsible for the first retcon have been retconned.
-Dictated, not read by retcon

I like Smart, she's quite a charismatic screen presence. But I find Hacks to be quite bizarrely very overrated. Although, that might have something more to do with her insufferable partner in the series.

It sounds like you're only familiar with the movies, the book gives a lot more historical material to work with that was just cut completely out of the movies. Some of it is more covered briefly, some of it is pretty detailed. But there's a lot to work with.

Marty waking up to different parents is part of the narrative of the original story, so yea a retcon, but a retcon that was planned from the start, that was the point.
Flashpoint is totally a retcon, on a massive scale, just with in universe explanation.
Joe Quesada didn’t want Mj and Pete married, so he wrote an in universe explanation to explain why they weren’t, and were never married.
The original question from Op did not specify whether the retcons needed to be diegetic or non diegetic (which I believe is what you are talking about, without knowing the term).

Yeah, was gonna say essentially this. There's tons of potential for stories to be told, either that were in the book and cut out of one or both of the movies, or hinted at that could be fully fleshed out, or even existing in the massive expanses of time that the book just skips over.
