The ad sales decreasing makes sense considering they absolutely gutted stuff like TNT and TBS. Harder to sell ads on reruns of things. It's been weird to see them advertise stuff like Silicon Valley on TBS so hard like it is a new show and won't just be a watered down rerun of what people that want to have already seen.

Yes! I'm also very much looking forward to S2 after that great season ending. They were just shooting a bunch of scenes in my town but nothing that would provide any hints at S2. :D

No need to compare, they are both excellent at what they do. The common thread for both is the people who create and also fund these shows respected the source material enough to do it justice. Arcane has more leeway but they didn't shit out something compared to the recent Resident Evil show that did their own thing, but it became a teen drama which is a different genre compared to the games.

Well Netflix actually makes money unlike the others. Also they're already the most expensive (or almost, I guess HBO Max might be more expensive) and with the password sharing thing, they probably think it'll go better with the price decrease. It's also limited to a small percentage of their base. 100-countries sound like a lot but it's only 10M people (which is 4% of their total base).

Plus they want to limit the impact of inflation and exchange rates in many of those countries I guess (it's kind of nice in general it goes the other way around)

IMO they should more revamp their tier systems but I guess it's still a good thing

The idea is to extract as much as possible. Sometimes that is lowering the price to increase market share or users. 100 people paying $10. They drop it to $9 but now have 120+ people you make more.
