That's not a Texan accent you're describing, just a dated stereotype.

Casting directors are good at chemistry. They intentionally cast actors who work well together, and have a charismatic spark between them.
It’s no wonder so many result in hook ups, even if that’s not intentional.

Homewrecker. 🫠
Edit: They’re both trash.

You is campy and funny as shit.
But i think the answe to the overall question of the post is that the darkness within humanity is a pretty interesting topic to explore.
It's the scarier type of horror because of how real it is.
The fact that normal people and lives are mostly (for your sake and mine) free of said darkness does raise some curiosity.

The game makes it personal, a TV show isn’t even third person since you’re passive so events that can be quite horrible in the game could be shown from a more distant perspective as they did with the bloater.

Yep, the game has some seriously scary bits and as you say, Part 2 has some awful parts they’ll need to cover. The large set pieces with huge numbers of infected don’t necessarily move a story forward but they’re great fun in a game so I’m not surprised we’re not seeing those very often. The first appearance of the bloater was excellent and shows they can do it, they’re just moving through the story more quickly than the game does. I was a little disappointed at the loss of the section working through the toppled buildings in Boston but it really wasn’t necessary. The bit I’m somewhat dreading is how they handle David…..

The OA. It’s the most unique storytelling I’ve ever seen and I have never found anything that comes close.

Totally agree. S2 felt odd, out of place wth the series as a whole.
Objectively, S2 was good television, but it didn't feel like The Wire.

I think the whole industry is in a upheaval and it’s much needed. It’ll take time for content to get back to a regular pace but it’s healthy considering the industry is splintering itself hard rn. Sony looking like geniuses for not having a streamer for their own stuff and just licensing off stuff

The same article mentions that the daughter, basically, got over it.

When I watched "You" for the first time , it creeped me out. But I was also hooked to the show. The Fall is the same. Paul Specter really made me feel disgusted, but it's a great mystery/thriller.
I think people love good thriller.

i hear ya, but this seems like a monumentally simple thing to fix.
fall frontwards, lay a mat down, change the camera angle, etc etc

Any profile from Variety, Deadline, or The Hollywood Reporter are puff pieces. They are the mouth pieces for the industry.
Edit: Not saying they aren’t worth visiting - probably the best places to get actual industry news. Just saying these specific articles they produce are basically industry propaganda.

That... wasn't the joke. I mean, it was part of it, I suppose, but it wasn't the punchline. It was the setup to his line. Him saying yes is the punchline, which puts her in her place for saying the offensive thing.

> It is interesting that both Bloys and Orci felt like Max was ordering shows that could easily have been HBO shows and was not broadening the audience of the service enough as a result.
I honestly think this is really stupid and short sighted on their part.
That HBO proper level of quality is precisely the reason so many people viewed HBO Max as the premier streaming service.
And broadening the audience is just another term for diluting your brand. Which is definitely NOT what HBO needs to be doing.
This coming on the heels of the WB takeover makes me think all is not well over there, and this is Bloys doing damage control to make it seem like he's still got a handle on it.
Guess only time will tell.
