We rewatched Back to the Future a couple nights ago with our kids and the part where Marty’s grandfather hits him with the car and you see and hear Marty’s head hit the rough road surface … it gave me chills. I don’t like that sound. I was trying to figure out how they did it. The medium shot is certainly Michael J. Fox’s double. But the close-up is all Fox. They either used a semi-soft surface made to look like road, or maybe some kind of plate in his hair or under a wig. Or Fox just let his head hit the payment, which seems unlikely. Whatever protections should have been in place for Raising Hope must have worked for *Back to the Future.”

Good points.
I just do not like more possible points of failure than needed.
With simple HDMI in and sound ... it's less tech
Add other stuff an more to fail.

Ziggy is a better character when you know his story. I remember watching it live, and initially thought he was being portrayed as almost the dock's McNulty, a lovable fuckup who ultimately does the right thing. Instead he's just a fuckup who keeps getting in more and more over his head. He's the personification of the theme of the season, a generation who feels pressured to live up to the standards of the previous one, but without the support and infrastructure that the previous generation had. He would never have become his father, but he also didn't have the ability to see any other path for his life.

thats what i thought too.

i figured if it was a stunt fall (which i am sure it was), there would have been some protections in place to make sure the head didnt slam onto concrete.

Just watched it. Not a doctor, so I don’t know, but that fall looked rough. The stiff arms seemed to happen really fast, but maybe that’s normal. I hope they were ok.

I had almost the exact conversation with my wife. I suggested the show to her but she doesn't like gore and extreme violence, which I told her was in the game, but we watched the first episode anyway and now she's hooked.

The game is much worse when it comes to blood and gore imo

The Nevers Part 1 isn't even on HBO Max anymore. They moved it to Tubi. And supposedly they will live stream The Nevers S1 Part 2 on Tubi March 1-3 or something?

I want to watch it and don't understand how lol

Edit: I see the site is for the UK so I honestly don't know if it is up there due to being a different region. It's not on the U.S. HBO Max anymore
